I am looking into purchasing a log cabin permanently. I’m not sure of the process or pathway when looking for sites / do I speak to the agent prior to purchase to find out if planning permission would be gained or would it be purchasing and hoping after that there is planning permission to put a log cabin on.

Also regarding insulation etc / I love the idea of timber frame but does it mean the walls inside will be exposed timber or can it be managed to be painted etc to replicate a wall.
